Technology for Elephant Conservation

Technology is rapidly transforming the way we understand, monitor, and protect elephants. From real-time tracking systems to AI-driven analytics, innovative tools are helping conservationists respond more effectively to challenges such as human–elephant conflict (HEC), poaching, and habitat change. This page showcases a range of technologies used in elephant conservation, from field-ready solutions to emerging innovations, all aimed at improving decision-making, supporting coexistence, and strengthening conservation efforts on the ground.

Sensing Clues Risk Radar: Anticipating Human–Elephant Conflict

On the frontlines of conservation, timing is critical. The Risk Radar developed by Sensing Clues provides an early-warning system that helps teams anticipate and respond to human–elephant conflict.

Using a real-time “digital twin”, the platform combines live elephant sighting data with ecological insights to predict where elephants are likely to move next. This enables faster, more informed decisions on the ground, shifting from reactive to proactive management.

The system ranges from the rapidly deployable Radius Risk Radar to more advanced models that incorporate landscape data and research-driven approaches for greater accuracy.

In addition to Risk Radars, Sensing Clues offers a range of monitoring tools, including customised solutions tailored to specific conservation needs.
